Why we include it · The temple Bhubaneswar grew around, and the fullest expression of the Kalinga style that every other Odisha temple is measured against. Still an active place of worship after nine hundred years.
Good to know · Non-Hindus cannot enter but can see the complex from the viewing platform on the north wall. Shoes off, no photography inside.
Why we include it · The only major Bhubaneswar temple dedicated to Vishnu rather than Shiva, and the one where the kitchen matters as much as the shrine — its mahaprasad is cooked in earthen pots the same way Puri's is.
Good to know · Beside Bindusagar tank. Food offerings are sold at the temple kitchen; the queue moves quickly outside festival days.
