A quick overview of what's in store
A six-day run into the Kullu valley from Delhi, travelling as a small group on a fixed date. Two nights in Manali covering Hadimba, Vasisht and Solang, a night under canvas at Kasol with a bonfire, and the hot springs at Manikaran Gurudwara before the overnight drive home. Departures run every night from Delhi, and you can board at Delhi or be picked up at Chandigarh on the way.

You can join at Delhi or Chandigarh
Delhi reporting is 5:00 pm for a 7:30 pm departure. Chandigarh is a roadside pickup between 12:00 am and 2:00 am the same night, so plan to be near the highway rather than checking into a hotel. The fare is the same from either point, and the return drops in the same order.

The trip runs Delhi–Manali–Delhi
The coach starts in Delhi and returns there on the morning of day 6, picking up and dropping at Chandigarh on the way. Your own flights or trains to whichever point you join are not included.
Two nights are spent on the coach
The journey out and the journey back are both overnight on the traveller. Of the five nights, two are on the road, two are in the Manali hotel and one is in a Swiss tent at Kasol.
Rohtang Pass and the Atal Tunnel depend on the season
Day 3 runs to Solang Valley or the Atal Tunnel depending on road conditions. Rohtang stays shut through winter and reopens around May; neither is guaranteed on a given date.
Riverside camping is subject to availability
The Kasol camp is in Swiss tents, with or without an attached washroom depending on what is free on the night. A riverside pitch specifically cannot be guaranteed.
Snow and adventure activities cost extra
Paragliding at Kullu, rafting, skiing and ziplining at Solang are all payable on the spot. Budget a few thousand rupees per head if you intend to do them.
Room heaters are charged separately
The Manali hotel bills heaters on top of the room. Worth knowing between December and February, when you will want one.
