Transport from new Lonavala airport to city centre – how to reach Dargah of Haji Malang?

Salaam brothers and sisters. I am planning a spiritual trip to Lonavala in early March, specifically to visit the revered Dargah of Haji Malang. I heard a new airport is opening/has opened near Lonavala. What is the best and most convenient way to get from this new airport to the city centre, and then onwards to the Dargah? Are there direct taxis, shared cabs, or perhaps local buses that operate on a reliable schedule? I am looking for options that are both economical and respectful of local customs. Any insights on approximate costs or timings, especially for reaching the Dargah by afternoon 'asar' prayers, would be greatly appreciated. Shukriya!

There's no new airport in Lonavala. The closest operational airport is Pune International Airport (PNQ) in Lohegaon. You'd need to fly into Pune first. From Pune Airport, to reach the Dargah of Haji Malang, your best bet is a private taxi. Book an accessible taxi service in advance that can accommodate a wheelchair. The Dargah is in Kalyan, which is a significant distance from Lonavala itself, even further from Pune. A taxi from Pune Airport to Kalyan will take around 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on traffic, and cost roughly INR 2500-3500. Once in Kalyan, local transport to the Dargah itself can be challenging for wheelchair users as the approach road is steep and often crowded. You might need assistance to cover the final stretch. Aim to leave Pune Airport by 10 AM to comfortably reach the Dargah by Asar prayers, which are usually around 4-4:30 PM in early March.
