Power adapter for South Korea trip to Jeju with elderly parents - type and voltage queries?

Namaste everyone! We are a family of three, including my 70-year-old parents, planning a wonderful trip to Jeju Island in late September. We'll be staying for about 8 days, hoping to visit some beautiful temples and enjoy some gentle walks. I'm starting to pack and realized I need to sort out power adapters. Could anyone advise on the specific type of power adapter needed for South Korea? Also, what is the standard voltage there? My parents have some medical devices (a CPAP machine and a heated blanket for comfort) that are essential, and I want to ensure we have the correct voltage converter if needed, to avoid any issues. We'll be bringing our phones, cameras, and a portable charger as well. Any specific brand recommendations for reliable adapters or converters would be greatly appreciated! Dhanyawad in advance!

Hey, great choice with Jeju in September, the weather should be perfect for those scenic drives. For South Korea, you'll need a Type F power adapter, which is the same as the CEE 7/4 (Schuko) plug. Standard voltage is 220V with a frequency of 60Hz. Most modern phones, cameras, and portable chargers are dual voltage (100-240V), so you'll just need the adapter. For your parents' medical devices, definitely double-check the labels. Most CPAP machines are also dual voltage, but a heated blanket might not be. If any device is 110V only, you'll need a step-down voltage converter. Don't cheap out on this, especially for medical gear. Brands like Wagan or Bestek make reliable converters, but ensure it has enough wattage for the heated blanket. A good travel converter for those can run INR 4000-6000. It's an extra thing to pack, but peace of mind is worth it.

Hey! Jeju in late September sounds lovely, good choice with the weather. For South Korea, you'll need a Type F power adapter, which is the standard "Schuko" plug with two round pins. The voltage there is 220V, and the frequency is 60Hz. Most modern phones, cameras, and portable chargers are dual voltage (100-240V), so they'll only need the adapter. Just check the small print on your devices to be sure. For your parents' CPAP machine and heated blanket, this is where you need to be careful. While many CPAPs are dual voltage, some medical devices are not. You ABSOLUTELY need to check the voltage rating on EACH device. If they say 110-120V only, then you'll need a step-down voltage converter. Don't risk plugging a 110V device into a 220V outlet, even with an adapter – it will damage the device. I usually buy my adapters and converters from Amazon India – brands like Ceptics or TESSAN are reliable. For a voltage converter, look for one that can handle the wattage of your heated blanket, as those can draw a lot of power. Better to get one with a higher wattage capacity than you think you need. Have a fantastic trip with your parents!
